Mailgun Partners with Verizon Media as View Time Optimization Provider

Today, we’re proud to announce our partnership with Verizon Media Group as the first View Time Optimization (VTO) campaign provider. 

What is View Time Optimization (VTO)?

VTO is a proprietary technology developed by Verizon Media Group that allows email senders to deliver an email message when the recipient is actively engaging with their mailbox. Emails enhanced with VTO are placed at the top of the inbox while the recipient is actively engaging with it, improving the open rates, click-through rates, and overall ROI of the email marketing campaign.

During initial campaigns, senders using VTO with their email campaigns saw increases in opens by 4x and clicks by 2x.

As the first email service provider to provide VTO, Mailgun can provide our enterprise customers the benefits of better opens and clicks right out the gate. “Email has the highest ROI of any communication channel for businesses,” said Will Conway, Chief Executive Officer of Mailgun Technologies. “With VTO, that return increases significantly because the hardest part is guaranteed.”

"Over 90% of incoming emails are blocked by the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) due to the high volume of spam, and less than 10% get delivered with 1-2% landing in the spam folder.” added Kate Nowrouzi, Vice President of Deliverability Strategy at Mailgun. “Our goal is to make sure our customers and brands are connecting to their subscribers at the right time. We believe VTO is the most powerful tool in the email marketing space, and we are very excited to be the first ESP to join forces with Verizon Media to achieve this goal."
