A few months ago, Mailgun announced integration into Parse’s Cloud modules program which allows for easy integration of third-party APIs into Parse apps. Now we’re getting together again to show the world just how easy it is to build an app on top of Parse and Mailgun with a joint tech talk and webcast scheduled for January 30th, 2013 at 10:30 AM PST.

In this webcast, you’ll learn how to use email to send push notifications to your web apps using Parse and Mailgun. Why would you want to do that? Well you’d probably want to use email to send push notifications if:

  • You want your marketing team to be able to securely send promotions to app users without coding

  • You wanted to create a group messaging app (think Facebook, Twitter, etc) without relying on SMS to notify users of a new message

  • You want your users to be able to communicate directly through your app AND traditional tools like email

During the webcast, Parse CEO Ilya Sukhar will give a quick intro to Parse functionality followed by a deep dive technical discussion and live-coding session. Mailgunner Travis Swientek (who you’ll know if you’ve recently chatted with us online or submitted a support ticket) will lead the tech talk and will cover the following topics:

  • Mailgun Cloud Code Module

  • Mailgun Routes

  • Parse Object Storage

  • Parse Cloud Code

  • Parse IOS SDK

Register now

Following the webcast, you’ll receive a link to a recording of the tech talk as well as a link to the code repository on GitHub so you’ll be able to grab the code and integrate into your own app. There will also be a Q&A session at the end of the webcast.
