Email compliance

Email compliance refers to following the laws, policies, and platform rules that govern how you collect, store, and use email addresses, and how you send messages to them.  

Key aspects of email compliance include:  

  • Consent: Only emailing users who have opted in  
  • Data handling: Storing and managing email addresses securely and transparently  
  • Sending behavior: Avoiding spam, misleading content, or prohibited use cases as outlined in Mailgun’s Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)  
  • Delivery compliance: Sending through infrastructure that aligns with anti-abuse standards (e.g., proper authentication, low complaint rates)
