Domain
Domain
A domain is a human-readable address on the internet (like mailgun.com) that maps to web and email services. In email, your domain appears in the “From” address and is a key signal used by inbox providers to assess reputation and authenticity. Senders use domains to:
- Authenticate email via SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
- Establish brand identity and trust
- Monitor reputation and deliverability
A domain’s history, configuration, and sending practices all impact inbox placement. Consistent, compliant use of a domain builds trust with mailbox providers, while poor practices can lead to spam filtering or blocking.
