Archives

In email clients like Gmail or Outlook, the Archive function allows users to remove messages from the inbox without deleting them. Archived emails are stored in a separate folder (often still searchable), helping users manage clutter while retaining access to old conversations.

In the context of email marketing and deliverability, archived messages signal neutral engagement: they weren’t deleted or marked as spam, but they weren’t clicked or replied to either. Over time, heavy archiving can hint at disengagement, which may lower engagement signals with inbox providers.

Note: If your emails are being archived consistently, it’s worth evaluating content relevance, frequency, and sender reputation; your messages are making it past the spam filters but not sparking action.
