DMARC

DMARC

Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC) is an email authentication protocol that builds on SPF and DKIM to give domain owners more control over what happens when unauthenticated mail is received. DMARC allows senders to specify a policy (none, quarantine, or reject) for handling messages that fail authentication, and it enables mailbox providers to send reports about those failures. When properly configured, DMARC helps prevent domain spoofing and gives visibility into how your domain is being used (or abused) across the email ecosystem.

DMARC is published as a DNS TXT record and must be aligned with either SPF or DKIM to pass authentication.
