Mailgun now provides subaccount usage limit alerts for Messages Sent, Email Previews, Email Validations, and Inbox Placement Tests. If you’re managing multiple subaccounts, staying ahead of usage is now a lot easier — primary account admins can set up alerts that notify them before subaccounts hit their monthly limits, so you can act early instead of cleaning up after an overage.
Alerts trigger at 50%, 75%, and 100% of a subaccount’s configured usage limit. The 50% and 75% thresholds are editable to fit your workflow; the 100% threshold is fixed. Notifications can be delivered via email, Slack, or webhook.
To get started:

  1. Go to Settings > Alerts > Subaccounts tab and enable the alert.
  2. Configure your notification channels under Channel Settings on the same page.
  3. Make sure a usage limit is set on the subaccount — the alert won’t trigger without one. Configure limits via the Subaccount Management page, the Threshold Limits API, or the Custom Sending Limits API for sending limits specifically.
