Cursor

Give your Cursor agent the full Mailgun toolkit. Check sending health, investigate bounces, verify DNS, and preflight campaigns without leaving your editor

Overview

The Mailgun plugin turns your Cursor agent into an email operator. Install it from the Cursor Marketplace, connect your Mailgun API key, and ask in plain language. Your agent pulls metrics, logs, bounce data, and DNS status across Send, Validate, Optimize, and Inspect, then hands you the evidence to act on.

  • One-command install from the Cursor Marketplace. No manual MCP configuration.
  • 15 Skills for outcome-level asks, like sending health checks, bounce investigations, and campaign preflights
  • The full email lifecycle in one plugin: Send, Validate, Optimize, and Inspect
  • Safe by default, with a built-in Mailgun operational safety rule and tool scoping you control

Use Cases

Popular ways to use Cursor with Mailgun

Find out why bounces spiked

Your bounce rate jumped and you don’t know why. Ask your agent. It pulls metrics, logs, bounce classification, and suppression data, then explains what changed so you can fix it fast.

Preflight a campaign before it ships

Before a bulk send, ask your agent to run a campaign preflight. It reviews sender readiness, recipients, suppressions, and templates, so problems surface before your subscribers see them.

Verify DNS without leaving your code

Setting up a new sending domain? Ask your agent to verify your Mailgun DNS records and audit domain health, tracking, and recent delivery risk. No dashboard, no copy-paste.

Validate addresses before they hit your list

Building a signup flow or importing a list? Your agent checks single addresses and sampled lists with Mailgun Validate before signup, import, or your next campaign.

How To Enable The Integration

Set up the Cursor integration for Mailgun in minutes

  • Step 1: Get your Mailgun API key – Log in at app.mailgun.com, go to API Security, and create a key. Copy it right away. It is only shown once.

  • Step 2: Add the plugin in Cursor – Sign in to Cursor, open the Mailgun listing in the Cursor Marketplace, and add it. Or run /add-plugin mailgun-cursor in the agent chat.

  • Step 3: Connect your Mailgun account – Run the mailgun-setup command to add your API key and choose which tools your agent can use. Installing does not create a new account or change your account settings.

  • Step 4: Ask your agent – Try “audit domain health for mg.example.com” or “run a campaign preflight.” Your agent picks the right Skill and does the work.
