MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions)

Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (MIME) increases the sending capabilities for non-ASCII (non-American Standard Code for Information Interchange) data files like audio, video, images, and apps within emails. MIME is an extension of the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP).

While plaintext emails have a place, multimedia emails improve an email program and boost user engagement by adding stimulating content in the form of photos or videos. Whether sending a short video explainer of a new product or images promoting new initiatives, use the MIME protocol to send emails over SMTP.
