Email open rate

Email open rate refers to the percentage of emails brands send that recipients open. When expressed in a formula, it’s the number of emails opened divided by the number of emails sent and multiplied by 100.

(Number of emails opened / Number of emails sent) * 100 = Email open rate

The open rate is a crucial marketing metric to determine whether or not subject lines are working or if the company’s target audience has good brand awareness. Another key email marketing metric relies on open rate: the click-to-open rate, which determines how many readers who opened the email proceeded to click through to the website.
